Education

Education

Public, private, extra-curricular, homeschooling, and STEM Career-Vocational Tech education.

GT Programming

Arvada, Denver, Boulder, CO

I was indepedently identified as Gifted at age 5, and started Gifted & Talented (GT) public and private education in 1st grade. I stayed in GT classes all grades through 6th grade, when I started 2 years of homeschooling, due the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wings Over the Rockies

Aurora, CO

As part of my 7th and 8th grade homeschool experience, I attended the Wings Over the Rockies education programs.

In these classes, I studied the concepts and physics of aerodynamics and air/space travel as well as explored the aerospace industry.

CABPES JETS Program

Denver, CO

As part of my 8th grade homeschool education program, I attended the Colorado Assocation of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists (CABPES) JETS program. This Junior Engineers Tomorrow's Scientists (JETS) program was a hands-on exploration of architectural engineering as our teams worked on designing handicap accessible cities.

I was awarded "Best In Class" and given a $100 cash prize for my work in the program.

Red Rocks Community College

Lakewood, CO

Continuing through my 8th grade homeschool education, I enrolled in Red Rocks Community College to start my progression towards learning engineering softwares. The first two classes I took were in a hybrid setting, partially online and in person, and I took AutoCAD 1101 and 1102.

Arvada High School

Arvada, CO

I went back to public school in 9th grade, starting at Arvada High School. Arvada High School had a small start-up STEM program that focused on construction geometry, 3D printing, and entrepreneurial algebra.

I took AP Human Geography, and AMPED (Applied Manufacturing Processes, Entrepreneurship and Design) where we applied algebra to business-sense like calculating sales, materials, production time, and design time, and researching sales channels for products created in other high school programs.

This class also included designing logos, as well as products like mini-skateboards and math-based tie-dye shirt designs.

Wheat Ridge High School

Wheat Ridge, CO

In 10th grade, I transferred to Wheat Ridge High School, the premiere STEM high school in my school district, hoping to land a spot on their Shell Eco-Team. Because I started in 10th grade, and not 9th, I had to take one year to learn SolidWorks and work on other projects like BattleBots and LEGO Robotics.

I took AP Environmental Science, AP US History, and AP World History, and other general requried classes as I awaited admission to the school district's Career and Technical Education school, Warren Tech, for my junior and senior years.

Warren Tech Central Career and Technical Education (CTE) High School

Lakewood, CO

I attend the Warren Tech Central Engineering Build and Design program for my 11th grade and 12th grade high school years. In this program, we explore all the aspects and processes of all fields of engineering, from start to finish.

We also do design challenges like Alka-Seltzer rockets, the classic spaghetti bridge, and pneumatic piston challenges.

We participate in group engineering projects like NASA HUNCH.

But my favorite part is that this is where I have the opportunity to freely experiment, design, and build whatever I want. Through collaboration with other programs, I have access to industry-leading machinery and experts in many fields of engineering.
